Dear Money Counter,

 

First of all “Thank you” for the wonderful and important ministry that you do for the parish.  If you know or hear of anyone that would like to be on this list please let me know.

 

There is change in the way of posting ministry schedules.  The monthly schedules have gotten a new face.  Don & Katie Calhoun are doing them, and we thank them for offering to do this.

 

The backside of the schedule will be done a bit different:  “Servers”, “Altar Duty Weekdays” and the “Money Counters” will no longer be in church for pickup.  They will be sent out for 6-month or a year.  It will eliminate the monthly printing.

 

In this mailing you will find the schedule for the next four months:  September to December 2009.  In November I will get the new schedule (2010) to you.  If you have any changes or questions, please let me know as soon as possible. 

 

Here are some notes from the audit, that the parish had last year, regarding the ‘Collections”.       Some of these may be new to the parish. *

 

            1.  The placement of the funds into the bag from the collection basket should be witnessed by the pastor or another person. *

2.  If the collection is removed during Mass, with the above procedure, it should be done in the presence of another person. *

            3.  The bags should not be opened unless there is another person present.

            4.  There needs to always be more than one family doing the collection.

            5.  The totals for the different columns need to be in ink.

            5.  The sheets need to have your initials done in ink.
