ADMISSION

SS. Peter and Paul School does not discriminate on basis of race, sex, national origin, age, or disability. This school gives preference in admission first to Catholic students living within the parish boundaries; secondly, to Catholic students living outside the parish boundaries; thirdly, to non-Catholics.
The education of a student is a partnership between the parents and the school. Just as the parent has the right to withdraw a child if desired, the school administration reserves the right to require the withdrawal of a students if the administration determines that the partnership is irretrievably broken.
Every student entering SS. Peter & Paul School is accepted on a 6 month probationary basis.

SCHOOL HOURS

School begins at 9:00 and ends at 3:40. Unless there is an unusual reason, your child should have left the building by 3:50 at the latest. If your children do not ride the bus, we ask that you keep your children home until 8:50. The school will not accept the responsibility for children who come early. Exceptions will be made for children for whom there is not an alternative. In such cases, please call the principal to arrange for this. Please do cooperate with this as the teachers need this time for their preparations and for meetings. We are not responsible for accidents that happen on the school premises outside of school hours.

Students arriving before 8:50 should go directly to the gym.

ATTENDANCE

Parents are urged to send their children to school every day unless there is a serious reason for not doing so. Please DO NOT keep your children out of school for babysitting of younger children or shopping. Since instruction and class activities are planned in a sequential order, your child's presence at school each day is very important. Parents are asked to call in when children will not be attending. If parents do not call, the office will call parents at work confirming the child is sick! Your child's assignments can be picked up from his/her teacher at 3:40 p.m.

EDUCATION FEE

Tuition for students in Gr. 1K-6 is $1,100 for the first child, $1,100 for the second child, and $500 for the third child. If full payment cannot be made by September 1, please divide the amount due and pay it in nine installments or less. The Board passed the following policy in 1980, "That parents who do not give permission for their children to receive benefits from M.S. 123,931-123,937, textbooks, individualized instructional materials, and standardized tests, be required to pay the current amount for each child attending the school during the current year."

PARENT/SERVICE REQUIREMENT

All parents(families) are expected to take part in the fundraising activities of the school including (but not limited to) the Workathon, Cash Raffle, Parent Sponsored Breakfasts, Cookie/Candy Walk, Silent Auction, Carnival, Bingo, Taste Test, River Lakes Days. Parents have the option of paying an additional $750 fee per child rather than take part in these events.

LUNCH

Hot lunches are available to the students at the cost of $2.10 a day and $.40 a day for reduced price lunch. Ten or twenty meal lunch tickets and twenty milk tickets for morning milk or milk with cold lunch will be sold. Kindergarten students receive free milk. Each child must have a lunch ticket if she/he eats hot lunch and a milk ticket if he/she drinks morning milk or milk with cold lunch at noon. If your child will be eating hot lunch at school, even occasionally, he/she should have his/her own lunch ticket. We do not allow "borrowing" punches from others. If your child does not have a ticket, please send his/her lunch. Notices that lunch tickets need to be purchased will be attached to the weekly parent letter. Please send money for milk tickets only when you get a note that your child needs a new milk ticket. Classroom teachers will keep the tickets so children will have no opportunity to lose them.

Please send money or a check in an envelope that is labeled "hot lunch" and include your child's name and grade on the envelope.
